Hazardous Materials First Responder Awareness

hazmat-04Hazardous Materials First Responder-Awareness Training

This course, designed and produced by Jim Braunstein, has been presented to over 4000 EMS, fire service, law,  enforcement and correction personnel since 1990.  The program has consistently received resounding positive  feedback over the years from both the students who have attended the course as well as their employer’s supervisors and managers.

This multimedia program is presented over 8 hours and is designed to familiarize the student with the threat of hazardous materials as well as weapons of mass destruction and how to safely respond to that threat.  But perhaps most importantly, the course helps the student realize just how prevalent the threat of hazardous material incidents is, and underscores the importance of their role as first responders to these emergencies.  It is presented in an interactive, relevant and entertaining format designed to hold the attention of even the “least inspired” responder.  A recent student who attended the program submitted a critique that read:

“I have sat through a lot of these classes in my 15 years on the job and I must say that Jim made this usually boring and dry subject matter both interesting and enjoyable.  I actually came away from this class with something.  Thanks Jim.”
