BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS (BBP)

Bloodborne pathogens are agents of disease such as viruses which inhabit the blood or other body products. A disease which is caused by a bloodborne pathogen may be known as a bloodborne disease or illness. Because many bloodborne pathogens are extremely virulent and difficult to treat, it behooves anyone who may be potentially exposed to such agents to learn how to use appropriate precautions to protect themselves.

Bloodborne Pathogens training helps your organization comply with the training component of OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, including OSHA's Needlestick Standard. The course provides vital information about managing a potential exposure to an infectious disease in the workplace, including:

  • How bloodborne pathogens are spread
  • How to prevent exposures
  • What to do if exposed to infectious materials

Our instructors are all experienced EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) or Paramedics with many years of street experience to their credit.  They are also experienced trainers passionate about teaching safety topics.
